A joint Meeting of the Â鶹AV Historical Group, the Society for the History of Alchemy and Chemistry and the Faculty of History and Philosophy of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Society of Apothecaries.
Â鶹AV Historical Group members will be able to hear papers on the history of pharmacy from early Islamic work to the present day and on the development of pharmaceutical industry in Britain from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries.
The meeting will be held in Apothecaries' Hall, the oldest extant Livery Company Hall in London, where the Great Hall, Parlour and Court Room remain as rebuilt between 1668 and 1670. There are two parts: an afternoon session from1430 followed by tea and a tour of the Hall, and the second part at 1800 for a keynote lecture by Robert Bud.
