Abstract

What is astroscience? Astroscience is a word appropriate for the purposes of this meeting (at least according my voluminous dictionary) and it does serve admirably in this respect because these three cross-disciplinary oral presentations are all space related. Although I have never actually given much thought as to why the Sun is so big, I’m really glad someone has, and so, Prof Waltham will give us comprehensive insights into the reasons for the 'bigness' of the Sun.  Ever since time immemorial, humankind probably wondered about the definition of life. To answer such a question, we first need to understand what is life? Dr Bhatt’s slant on this engrossing topic takes on a legal framework when it comes to actually defining life, giving a unique aspect to the subject. Finally, where would the Universe be in the absence of chemistry – just a pure energy universe! Prof McCoustra will enlighten us about the chemically controlled cosmos. There we have it, ladies and gentleman, three great talks to set your weekend in motion
